Student Life

Student life at TKA is full and offers something for every student. From clubs to pep rallies, students are encouraged to participate as part of TKA’s mission to develop students socially, physically, and morally. Student life participation is not just on our campus, but also in the community. Missions, service clubs, SCISA events, and national conferences are just some of the opportunities TKA students have to enrich their student life outside of TKA.

Clubs

Clubs are sponsored by staff and faculty members and are mostly academic or service oriented.

Club offerings include:

  • Prom Committee (Juniors only)
  • Key Club
  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes
  • Beta Club
  • National Honor Society

Spirit Week

Spirit Week occurs each fall leading up to our varsity football Homecoming game. The week is filled with themed dress-up days, sidewalk chalk decorations, poster making, and class banners. Each day builds to Friday when the Homecoming King is announced during the pep rally, students in 9th – 12th grade participate in t-shirt judging, battle each other in Powder Puff football, present their lip sync, and have their banners judged. The winners of the class competitions are presented at the football game Friday night. Our Senior girls are presented at halftime and the Homecoming Queen is crowned.

As part of SCISA and ACSI, our students can participate in varied events offered by these associations. Students are encouraged to participate in events and activities offered by organizations and businesses outside of, but in association with TKA, such as Francis Marion University, Florence Darlington Tech, and Florence Chamber of Commerce.
