Where were you born?

I was born and grew up in upstate New York in a rural area called Beaver Valley ten miles north of the small city of Corning and ten miles south of Watkins Glen.  Corning is the headquarters of Corning Glass, Inc., and Watkins Glen is known for its NASCAR speedway (former Grand Prix) and glen near Seneca Lake (one the Finger Lakes).

What is your educational background?

I graduated from Corning-Painted Post West High School with an NYS Regents Diploma.
I earned a BS in Physical Education and Hygiene at The King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, NY.
I earned an M.Ed in School Administration and Supervision from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA.

What is your philosophy of Christian education?

All truth is God’s truth and all learning should intersect with who God is, how he operates, and what He has revealed to us in creation and through His inspired and infallible Word.

Students are created in God’s image and should be taught as image bearers of Him.

Effective learning is best accomplished when it is student-centered and geared towards each child’s mode of learning.

Christian education, when paired with Christian parents in the home and a church where the Gospel is clearly taught, provide a strong Christian worldview foundation for students.

Christian education should seek to lead students in understanding and honing their gifts and passions to place in God’s Kingdom on earth.

What is your favorite thing about TKA?

TKA is committed to loving and serving God and people.

What is something fun or interesting about you?

Living outside of Washington D.C., and knowing people who work for the government, I have had some unique opportunities including, visiting the Supreme Court Justice’s law library, climbing up in the domes of the US Capitol and Library of Congress, and attending a White House Christmas party with President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy,
