Where were you born?
I was born in Albany, Georgia. I moved to Birmingham, Alabama, when I was five and lived there until I moved to Florence, SC 14 ½ years ago.
What is your educational background?
I graduated from Banks High School in 1981. I went to Jefferson State Community College for two years and transferred to the University of Montevallo. I graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a math/science concentration. I have also been a writing teacher for over 15 years.
What is your philosophy of Christian education?
I believe that educating a child involves the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Learning should be fun and engaging and should also involve a Biblical worldview. It is important to show students how everything was created by God and was created to reveal His glory.
What is your favorite thing about TKA?
I love that I get to share Christ with students and share our burdens with each other. I love that we start each class with prayer and that we disciple during table talks. I love my coworkers and their love for Christ and their support of each other.
What is something fun or interesting about you?
I love yoga, reading, and spending time by a pool or a beach. I worked in New York City one summer and my train dropped me off in the basement of the World Trade Center. I worked in the financial district of NYC.
