What is your philosophy of Christian education?
As Christian educators, it is our job to come alongside the family in helping their children to understand the truth about life, our purpose on this earth, and equip them to navigate life and their place in this world through the lens of the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A Christian education uses the Word of God as its standard of truth, equipping students to see how our Lord is Lord of all, including all areas of study and how to live a life of joyful obedience to God and His Word. However, a Christian education doesn’t just focus on the mind and gaining knowledge, it also focuses on the heart, seeking to train up children to live a life that is a reflection of the Gospel.
The goal is to help children know that God is at the center of every pursuit of knowledge and that all truth is God’s Truth. It is my hope as a believer in Jesus that this knowledge, along with the work of the Holy Spirit, would transform the lives of the students we teach and that this knowledge would allow students to better serve as the hands and feet of Jesus that our world desperately needs.
What is your favorite thing about TKA?
While I have many things that I love about TKA, the thing I love most is the community that I have. It is a blessing for me and my son to be a part of a body of believers who love and support each other, who encourage one another and build each other up daily.
What is something fun or interesting about you?
I can roll my tongue.
