What is your philosophy of Christian education?
As a Professionally Certified NILD Educational Therapist at The King’s Academy, my philosophy of education is centered around the important work that I believe God has called me to do. As God has made each student a unique individual, formed in His image, we should offer an appropriate education to each student God has brought to our school. This education should be one that meets them where they are in their educational journey, allows them to be nurtured and strengthened as they progress, identifies any learning struggles they may be facing and offers individualized help to bring about positive, permanent change by beginning with the cognitive foundations of these struggles and building upon those foundations to strengthen academic, social, and emotional functioning. These, when paired with a strong spiritual foundation, will lead them to be independent, lifelong learners equipped to be productive members of society who are ready to answer God’s call upon their lives.
What is your favorite thing about TKA?
I love the family atmosphere of TKA and that we seek to help each student be successful by offering the services provided through the Discovery Program.
What is something fun or interesting about you?
I enjoy birdwatching, gardening, making my own jewelry, target shooting and working with power tools.
