Where were you born?

I was born in Florence, SC, and grew up in Timmonsville, SC.

What is your educational background?

I attended Hudgens Academy in Lynchburg, SC from Preschool - 11th grade and called it home. Upon the closing of Hudgens, I enrolled at Robert E. Lee Academy in Bishopville, SC and graduated third in my class with honors. Following high school, I attended the University of South Carolina for undergraduate studies and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Experimental Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies and a cognate in Business Administration. I continued my studies at Francis Marion University and graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Science in Applied Psychology and obtained a license as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of South Carolina.

What is your philosophy of Christian education?

His Word says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6) Our children are our future, and what better way to train them than through a Christian education where things of the world are discussed daily in the classroom, but discussed through the lens of a Biblical perspective. Not only in academics and social interactions in the classroom, but also in athletics and fine arts, young men and women are learning Biblical principles in all areas of life and how to integrate them into everyday life. You partner that with Chrisitian values being taught in the home and nurtured through a church family, and the outcome can be a beautiful thing.

What is your favorite thing about TKA?

TKA feels like home. The sense of community and kind-heartedness radiates from the families, faculty, and staff. I fully believe in and support the mission of this school and am amazed by the many opportunities this school has to offer to its students on a multitude of levels.

What is something fun or interesting about you?

I've driven firetrucks...it was hard to reach the pedals.
