Where were you born?
I was born in Loris, SC, and raised in North Myrtle Beach, SC. I moved to Florence my sophomore year in high school.
What is your educational background?
I graduated from West Florence High School in 1994 and Francis Marion University in 1999 with a degree in English, minor in Writing Composition.
What is your philosophy of Christian education?
It isn't just attending a Bible class or a chapel weekly. It is giving examples and evidence that God is relevant in every subject. He is in the details of Science, the order of Mathematics, the History of our world, and the words in Literature.
What is your favorite thing about TKA?
I love that our students are challenged academically but have the opportunity to explore interests in athletics and the arts. They also have the opportunity to minister locally, nationally, and internationally throughout the year. I also appreciate that we are a 3K-12th-grade institution so our students grow in an environment they feel comfortable in, a family!
What is something fun or interesting about you?
Roller skating was the thing to do when I was growing up but I took it a step further and competed, in full costume. Private lessons paid off! I was also an extra in a Disney movie that was filmed at the beach, "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken". Now my family and I just enjoy being on a boat!
