Where were you born?

I made my entry into the world in Sacramento, California; and my formative years were spent in Fresno, California. As an Army wife, I called several places home; Schweinfurt, Germany; Columbus/ Ft. Benning, Georgia; Killeen/ Fort Hood, Texas; and Warren, Arkansas. As a pastor’s wife, the Lord moved us to Austell, Georgia; and now we call Florence, South Carolina home.

What is your educational background?

I graduated from high school at Fresno High School in Fresno, California.

I received an Associate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Central Texas College.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies: Social Science and Fine Arts from Liberty University.

I received a Master of Education: Curriculum and Instruction, from Liberty University.

What is your philosophy of Christian education?

The purpose of Christian education is to guide children to the truth about God and their need for a personal relationship with Him, through Christ. This is witnessed by infusing every part of the academic day with Scripture; then living out that truth on a daily basis. Then, when these warriors for Christ are in the world, they will be equipped to, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19).

What is your favorite thing about TKA?

Because this is my first year at TKA, I look forward to finding my favorite things as the academic year unfolds.

What is something fun or interesting about you?

While living in Germany I had the opportunity to visit Berlin on October 2, 1990, the day before the official reunification. During my visit, I was able to see the Berlin Wall. It was a sobering feeling that I will never forget. That feeling would be compounded by reading about the mass rioting that would take place twenty-four hours later.
