Matt Edgerton - Class of 2003

Matt Edgerton

2003 TKA graduate Matt Edgerton will be completing his undergraduate degree this year at The University of Warwick, England.  Matt will be spending the entire 06-07 academic year at Warwick.  This opportunity has been made available to Matt through the University of South Carolina-University of Warwick Exchange Program.

In existence since 1966, this program is open to history majors and minors. After applying and writing a five page personal statement, Matt was selected on a competitive basis and given a $1,000.00 travel stipend.  This year USC is sending three students to Warwick and welcoming one from England.  As an exchange scholar, Matt is looking forward to spending a year at the UK's
sixth highest ranked university.

Matt plans to visit The Louvre Museum and Arc de Triumph in Paris, Hadrian's Wall in North England, Edinburgh's Castle in Scotland and of course, Shakespeare's Home in Stratford-upon-Avon (He knows he couldn't come home to Mrs. Baroody if he didn't do this one).

The University of Warwick is located outside of Coventry, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes NW of London.  Please keep his safety and well being in your prayers.

EmilyEmily Leviner -
Class of 2002

Emily Leviner is a 2002 graduate of TKA. She graduated from Clemson University with honors in May 2006 with a degree in economics. While at Clemson she spent one semester in Senator Demint’s office in Washington, D. C. as an intern through the S. C. Honors College Program. During the summer of 2005 she participated in a program called the “Israel Experience”, sponsored by Eagles’ Wings Ministry and the Israeli Knesset. Emily spent three weeks in Israel with 18 other university students with the goal to be “informed and articulate” defenders of Israel. She was involved in all aspects of Israeli life. Currently Emily is in law school at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA.

Emily shares: “During the past few years, God has taken me on several incredible adventures. It’s been amazing to see how He has taken what seemed like random experiences, and caused them to work together perfectly. With each new turn, I have seen how God is orchestrating the steps of my life so that He can fulfill His purposes in me. Although I definitely have had my share of struggles during these times, God has used them to teach me to trust Him more. And now, as I am beginning my law school adventure, I am realizing that trust in God is going to have to carry me through the next three years. I am looking forward to what the Lord has in store for me here at Regent, and I know that He is preparing me for whatever He has next!"

Jeremy Pollett - Class of 2001

Jeremy

Jeremy graduated from Charleston Southern University in May 2005 and has begun working as a middle school minister at Grace Fellowship Church in Snellville, Georgia. Jeremy shares:

“I spend my time planning and coordinating LUG (Living Under Grace) and Base Camp (our Sunday School program). LUG is a time to study God's Word and worship with music, games, and skits. We also have high-schoolers and adults help us with small group discussion and prayer. At the end of the month we participate in one of our on-going missions.

During Base Camp the students play ping-pong, air hockey, video games and also report to their leader on things that they have done through the week such as scripture memorization, daily devotions, and friends that they have witnessed to. Each week we have a look at a local school or ministry and spend time in prayer for the need that was discussed. We have a skit or video or some other creative method of introducing the topic of the morning. A time of teaching in small groups is followed by a time of worship.”

Jeremy and his group recently returned from Biloxi, Mississippi where they ministered encouragement to those who have been broken by hurricane Katrina. You can tell from the photo (Jeremy is up front) that they find time to have a little fun too!

Jeremy plans to attend seminary.
